Interim Financial Management

Organisation type

I am willing to work with any organisation (except not-for-profit) finding itself in any strategic scenario. To summarise my experiences so far:

·         Public sector assignments have generally been to backfill for the absence of key staff

·         Private sector assignments have either been turnarounds or post-acquisition integration and many of these assignments have been in the SME sector.

However, there have been other features of change management in many assignments, such as implementing new systems, implementing or upgrading forecasting or reporting, or developing the finance team into a modern finance team that supports commercial decision making. Invariably, SME assignments are at finance director level whereas larger organisations are not.

SME sector assignments appeal most of all because they use the widest range of skill sets and I see this as a key element in an enjoyable assignment.
