I have worked for the
subsidiaries of a number of quoted companies:
·
J Sainsbury plc. Note that this had an interesting
requirement to understand the revenue recognition rules under US GAAP.
·
Securicor plc. At the time, it was in the FTSE 100.
·
Bookham Technology plc. Not in
the FTSE, but it was fully quoted as one of the classic examples of the
“dot com boom”. Today it’s called Oclaro
Inc and lives in California. As well as quoted on the
London Stock Exchange, it was quoted in New York.
·
Torex Retail plc
an AIM-listed business that was bought by Cerberus following some poor
management.
·
Abbey Bank, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Santander
Group
·
Ultralife Batteries (UK) Ltd,
a wholly owned subsidiary of Ultralife Inc, a NASDAQ-quoted business and where I was responsible for
the UK side of a $50m public offering
·
Acco.
In those days, Acco was part of American Brands, a
Fortune 500 business.
I have prepared a separate
page covering my experience with US-quoted
businesses.
Together with the work that I
have done in the public sector, I can show
that I can work on my own, in multi-disciplinary teams, large teams of fellow
professions and in complex organisations.
